Choc-Our-World

Mrs. Abernethy's class is involved in an international project called Choc Our World. In addition to learning about chocolate and sharing our knowledge with other classrooms around the world, we are participating in a chocolate exchange. We are sending chocolate from Hershey (headquarters in Pennsylvania) and Daffins (headquarters in Sharon, PA) to Wisconsin and Belgium! Stay tuned for pictures of our chocolate packages from them! To learn more about chocolate check out our wikispace page: http://jabernethy.wikispaces.com/Choc+Our+World

Class Election

Mrs. Abernethy's class elected their class president today on election day. Congratulations to the new class president, Melia!

The election included a primary, a political convention, several class debates, campaign speeches, a trip to the polls, and of course a class election. Students used the electoral votes from the states they chose to research as their voting power. Of course, they didn't know about this twist before the election! Lucky Emily chose California and had 55 electoral votes!

Enjoy pictures from some of the events. You can see more projects related to the election on the Journeys Response Blog.

Skyping with Lead Rocker

Mrs. Abernethy's students learned how to use Garage Band from Rock Our World's lead rocker, Carol Anne McGuire. She was in California and we were here in Pennsylvania. How cool is that! We are very excited to be a part of the "Rock Our World" international project this year. To learn more, check out http://rockourworld.org/!
